Frequently asked questions

VaultiXe uses different encryption approaches depending on the storage mode. Server-Side Encryption (SSE) protects files stored with VaultiXe, while Client-Side End-to-End Encryption (CE2EE) encrypts supported files on your device before upload. CE2EE provides an additional layer of client-side privacy because VaultiXe does not normally receive the plaintext file during storage.

It depends on the encryption mode. With SSE, encryption and decryption are managed by VaultiXe's service infrastructure to support normal platform functionality. With CE2EE, files are encrypted on your device before upload, so VaultiXe does not normally receive the plaintext file during storage.

Changing or cancelling a paid plan does not automatically delete your stored data. Your account may transition to the Free tier according to the applicable plan rules, while your files remain subject to the storage limits and settings of your account. You can export or delete your files using the features available to your account.

No. VaultiXe Community sharing uses controlled, time-based access. Shared links or permissions automatically expire when their configured time period ends, and the owner can revoke access before expiration where supported.

Yes. Changing plans does not automatically delete your stored files. However, your available storage capacity and feature access may change with the new plan. If your stored data exceeds the new plan's limits, you may need to manage your storage before adding more files.

VaultiXe uses modern encryption technologies, including AES-256-GCM where applicable. AES-256-GCM is widely regarded as highly secure against known practical attacks when properly implemented. VaultiXe uses SSE and CE2EE depending on the feature and storage mode.

Key handling depends on the encryption mode. With SSE, encryption and decryption are managed by VaultiXe's service infrastructure to support normal platform functionality. With CE2EE, encryption is performed on your device before the file is stored, providing an additional layer of client-side protection.

Encryption requires some additional processing, but VaultiXe is designed to keep the impact minimal during normal use. Actual performance may vary depending on your device, network connection, file size, and encryption mode.

Security is not a feature here — it is the foundation.
